Plastic and paper cups are a fundamental part of our business, but when we discovered that a staggering 2.5 billion cups end up in landfill in the UK every year, we knew something had to change. We certainly don’t want our cups to end up in landfill, so we decided to launch our reCup Recycling Scheme in the battle against cup pollution. We sell approximately 0.5 million cups every year. That’s a lot of cups! That means, if all of our customers opt into our reCup Recycling Scheme, we could save up to 0.5 million cups from landfill every year.

WHY RECYCLE WITH US?
Recycling is good for the planet. We all know this. But did you know that just 1 in 400 cups in the UK end up being recycled even if you put them in a recycling bin? This sort of news is rather discouraging. That’s why we’ve set up our own recycling service to give you total peace of mind that your cups will end up in the right place. So we launched the reCup Recycling Scheme, a simple way for you to recycle your cups with confidence. All you have to do is dispose of used cups in the reCup bin, and we’ll do the rest. It’s simple, easy and reliable.

WHY RECUP?
We did a lot of research to find what we believed to be the greenest, most workable solution to address cup pollution. We found the most efficient solution was the proper recycling of plastic cups. Therefore the reCup Recycling Scheme was launched – our very own recycling service along with a brand new specially designed cup disposal bin.

WHAT MAKES THE RECUP BIN DIFFERENT?
The reCup unit is a special bin designed for the disposal of used cups. Intended to sit conveniently next to your water cooler, the reCup’s unique design takes up minimal floor space and eliminates the need for rubbish baskets or bins. By using a reCup you have already separated your cups from other office rubbish, making it ideal for recycling. The bin is small and compact yet has the capacity to hold larger volumes by nesting the cups within each other, also reducing the frequency with which the bin needs emptying. You can stack an impressive 150 cups into a single reCup bin which is the equivalent of about 6 to 7 bin bags worth of common waste.

By using a reCup you are also reducing the bacteria that could ascend from a normal rubbish bin. The innovative design means that the bin does not emit any nasty smells, adding to a cleaner and more sanitised environment. Easier for you, and easier on the environment. HOW DOES THE RECUP RECYCLING SCHEME WORK?
The reCup bin is designed to sit next to your water cooler. Empty cups are to be placed in this bin. When we deliver your new water for your water cooler each week, as well as taking your empty water bottles, we will take away the bags of cups to recycle. It’s as simple as that.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?
We will provide you with a reCup bin which sits next to your water cooler as well as the bin liners which go inside. When we deliver your water each week, we will collect your cup waste at the same time and recycle it. This service will be charged at £1 per week with no additional costs and will be charged at the same time as your rental.

WHAT ARE THE CUPS RECYCLED INTO?
Plastic cups can’t be made into more cups, sorry. However, they can be made into other great things like traffic lights, brooms and brushes, car battery casings, ice scrapers, landscape borders, bicycle racks, rakes, bins, pallets, trays, bowls, spatulas, cutting boards, shovels, watering cans, storage bins and shipping pallets.
