5 Signs You Are Not Drinking Enough Water
It is essential that you drink enough water to replenish your body’s lost fluids.
A HEATWAVE has been sweeping across the UK bringing in scorching temperatures and a lot of people aren’t drinking enough water to maintain healthy levels of hydration.
Here are five signals that indicate you need more H2O:
- Dark Urine
Urine should be the colour of pale straw or transparent yellow. If your urine is a moderately dark shade of yellow, you are becoming dehydrated and should drink some water soon.
- Tiredness or Fatigue
According to UK GPs, dehydration is the cause of 1 in 10 cases of tiredness and fatigue. Try swapping a cup of coffee for a glass of water.
- Muscle Cramps
Getting a cramp in your muscles is a big clue that hydration is a problem. Hydration might not be a solution to everything, but it can help treat and ease some of the painful and irritating symptoms that arise with uncomfortable conditions.
When dehydrated, the hypothalamus may confuse thirst with appetite. Often when hunger creeps in, it simply might just be demanding a cup of water out of thirst, not actual hunger.
- Mental Sluggishness
Dehydration may affect our moods and ability to concentrate. If you find it difficult to concentrate, you may need to reach for a glass of water to give yourself a boost.
