To help keep our focus on water throughout the day, at water cooler Clapham like to maintain a steady flow (oh blimey, we are funny) of music in the office; the more water-related the better. Here are some of our favourite tracks:
Surfin’ USA- The Beach Boys: A super, summertime, feel-good track, all about the joys of being on the beach/in the water and lapping up the good times.
Smoke on the Water-Deep Purple: A little more of a number for those rock Gods/chicks out there. A great tune to enjoy on Guitar Hero, if we do say so ourselves.
Singin’ In the Rain (from the firm soundtrack): What film can beat this corker? The perfect pick-me-up and celebration of all things rain-related.
Yellow Submarine- The Beatles: Classic humour from the pride of Liverpool.
Sitting on the Dock of the Bay-Otis Reading: Once you’ve exhausted yourself with all the dancing/rocking out/singing along to our previous choices, sit back and relax, and let the voice of Otis take you to that bay where you can simply be. A wonderful way to send yourself to sleep.
If you’d like to let us know your watery tune of choice, do get in touch and we’ll add you to our office playlist!

In the midst of this wintery weather, it’s all too easy to forget ourselves and our watery needs (even though we have plenty of reminders all around us, what with the rain and snow), and to keep ourselves hydrated. Having been hanging around South London a lot in the past few weeks, we’ve found the residents of Clapham to be very vigilant in terms of good drinking habits, and so, through the means of survey and chatting to the general public, we’ve composed a small guide that we’ve called “Keeping friendly with your water cooler, Clapham style”, as we sometimes all need a helping hand doing this. And so here are the first few tips that we gathered:
James, 24: Take your usual bottle of water with you when you go running- even though it’s colder, you still need to keep drinking whilst exercising.
Kate, 29: I am a big fan of being on the tap water during a night out in one of Clapham’s great clubs or bars- and a great way to help avoid a killer hangover.
John, 19: Always order a jug or bottle of water in a restaurant. It’s easier to drink more whilst you’re eating as it doesn’t feel like such a chore.
The people of Clapham have spoken, we will definitely be following their advice!
