For many of our dedicated and loyal customers, the level of customer service we provide at The Water Delivery Company is more than satisfactory; indeed, it is really rather good. As part of our work to keep this up, we’ve set up a webcam in our office, so you can see exactly what Dan is having for lunch, when Marlon is answering the phone to take a water order, and just how cheery our drivers are after delivering all morning (they really are very cheery indeed). So if you’re ever stuck for what to do in your lunch hour, and you’ve already read the weekly blog instalment, picked the boring bits out of your sandwich and beaten your previous online Sudoku time, then all you need to do is connect with us and look at all our smiling faces. We really think that it’s lovely for you, loyal reader to be able to put faces to names, and make the people you speak to regularly, a little more human. Here are some snaps we took of our water coolers being loaded out of the factory where they are produced, sealed in a container and sent on their way to these shores. We have high quality bottled water coolers in a variety of styles manufactured for us in China – the coolers are loaded into a container – 192 of them – which is sealed and sent on its way to us over land and then sea.
The coolers then reach us at our warehouse in London SW19 around 7-8 weeks later.
Please call us on 0845 006 3309 or email contact@thewaterdeliverycompany.com if you’d like more information on our range of bottled water coolers for hire or purchase.
In a recent blog of ours, we brought you thrilling and exciting news of Tom Boyd, who built some really super looking sculptures out of bottles that he acquired from yours truly, The Water Delivery Company. When we heard what he wanted them for, to create some art which promoted the idea of using sustainable resources to make groovy things, which also fashioned the idea of using said resources carefully in our fragile world, where many of the things we take for granted are running out. Having gone down such as storm at Glastonbury festival, Tom has since sent us some lovely dusk-time photos, which really enhance the majesty of his sculpture, and show us what a feat he has undertaken with this project.
a message, then please do get in touch and we’ll share your creation with our readers. Who knows, it could be the break into the brutal world of art that you need. We’ll happily take some of the credit.
There’s nothing we like better than our bottles being recycled/reused for exciting and innovative projects, particularly if they’re artistically inspired and will bring a lot of people a lot of joy. So can you imagine our delight when we discovered Tom Boyd, who recently came in and purchased some of our old bottles, used them to create a new ‘home’/shack as part of a competition run by the Shangri-La area at Glastonbury Festival, encouraging entrants to ‘Build a Palace from Pallets’, which is exactly what our chum did. The aim of the competition was to encourage people to think about using inventive means and resources to build shelters, while getting the viewers to think about what they’re actually seeing. In the case of our bottles, the idea of the piece is to highlight the importance of using materials in a way that might not be their original purpose for being created, and also to encourage to think about water shortage throughout the world, as well as preserving other precious resources. If you’re heading to Glastonbury this year, be sure to keep an eye out for this, and the other inventive constructions! It’s a well-known fact that the office water cooler really brings out the best (and worst/most frightening/more
bizarre) things in oneself and in one’s colleagues. If you’re having a browse of our blog on your well-earned lunch break, read on, and take our little quiz to find out, which water cooler Tooting personality are you?
Below we’ve noted our observations about certain water cooler behaviour- see if you can match your own personality to one of these:
The health fanatic: Constantly at the cooler filling up, and sharing their wisdom of the benefits of drinking water with their workmates in near vicinity.
The gossip: Sort of hangs around the cooler waiting for someone to share their latest knowledge with. Whilst drinking, always keeps a beady eye on what’s going on around the office.
The ruthless bottle-finisher: This sneaky personality always seems to manage to just get to the bottom of the bottle, and then avoid changing it. Never arrive at the cooler just after this one, you’ll be disappointed.
The flirt: Always seems to jump up/require refreshment when the office hottie is near the cooler. Shamelessly props themselves against it which strategically shows them in their best light.
So remember, whichever one you are, everyone will now know; celebrate and relish your own water cooler personality.
To help keep our focus on water throughout the day, at water cooler Clapham like to maintain a steady flow (oh blimey, we are funny) of music in the office; the more water-related the better. Here are some of our favourite tracks:
Surfin’ USA- The Beach Boys: A super, summertime, feel-good track, all about the joys of being on the beach/in the water and lapping up the good times.
Smoke on the Water-Deep Purple: A little more of a number for those rock Gods/chicks out there. A great tune to enjoy on Guitar Hero, if we do say so ourselves.
Singin’ In the Rain (from the firm soundtrack): What film can beat this corker? The perfect pick-me-up and celebration of all things rain-related.
Yellow Submarine- The Beatles: Classic humour from the pride of Liverpool.
Sitting on the Dock of the Bay-Otis Reading: Once you’ve exhausted yourself with all the dancing/rocking out/singing along to our previous choices, sit back and relax, and let the voice of Otis take you to that bay where you can simply be. A wonderful way to send yourself to sleep.
If you’d like to let us know your watery tune of choice, do get in touch and we’ll add you to our office playlist!
In the midst of this wintery weather, it’s all too easy to forget ourselves and our watery needs (even though we have plenty of reminders all around us, what with the rain and snow), and to keep ourselves hydrated. Having been hanging around South London a lot in the past few weeks, we’ve found the residents of Clapham to be very vigilant in terms of good drinking habits, and so, through the means of survey and chatting to the general public, we’ve composed a small guide that we’ve called “Keeping friendly with your water cooler, Clapham style”, as we sometimes all need a helping hand doing this. And so here are the first few tips that we gathered:
James, 24: Take your usual bottle of water with you when you go running- even though it’s colder, you still need to keep drinking whilst exercising.
Kate, 29: I am a big fan of being on the tap water during a night out in one of Clapham’s great clubs or bars- and a great way to help avoid a killer hangover.
John, 19: Always order a jug or bottle of water in a restaurant. It’s easier to drink more whilst you’re eating as it doesn’t feel like such a chore.
The people of Clapham have spoken, we will definitely be following their advice!

Islington council, who proudly call themselves one of the greenest boroughs in London, have decided to pull the plug on funding for office water coolers, stating that precious funds are being wasted on frivolities such as these when there is nothing wrong with drinking from the tap.
Following the laws that all employers must provide clean, suitable drinking water for their workers to keep hydrated, we at water cooler Islington feel that this idea will not necessarily be appreciated by everyone, particularly when employees have become accustomed to drinking delicious, fresh spring water from a state-of-the-art cooler, for their convenience and luxury. On the other hand, with the city of London footing the bill for the 2012 Olympics, as well as doing everything possible to help with climate change and keeping the city greener, maybe this initiative isn’t such a bad idea.
What are your views on this motion? Are you an employee in Islington who has been/potentially will be affected by this, and if so, how? Do let us know your experiences and thoughts, we always love to hear from you, and we may use your stories in our blog if you so allow! We look forward to hearing from you.
