Battersea water cooler for local pets

April 30th, 2010

battersea water cooler keeps dog hydratedBattersea is a great place to live- beautiful, spacious park, easy access to central London and the surrounding areas, thriving nightlife and culture, and stunning accommodation with some of the best views in the city. Not only this, but Battersea is home to the nationally known Dogs’ Home, which provides a loving environment for many of the capital’s strays- however, once at the home they’re often not there for too long, as the re-homing scheme run by the centre is extremely successful.
Being real pet lovers ourselves, we are proud to offer a range of goodies and water coolers for your own Battersea-based beloved pooches (or dogs located anywhere in London, for that matter), such as the widely celebrated pet dispenser, which will keep your delectable doggy hydrated for days, by releasing water at regular intervals- perfect for those of us who travel and find it tricky to get someone to watch the pets. Not only this, but we’ll offer a regular and efficient water delivery, should you so desire it, brought to your door by our own friendly, charming engineers. They’ll even pat the dog (if they’re allowed).
If you have any questions about any of our products, please do get in touch, and we’ll be happy to answer any queries you might have.

Around the Water Cooler in Balham

January 15th, 2010

Many of us are self-employed, which can mean lots of long days at home, with only your laptop/homenice cup of tea for water cooler Balham engineers office/cat/dog/puppy/iguana/any other exotic pet you might have for company. The hours often drag by, and ways in which to break up the day and make it more interesting become sparser. This is where we can help. If you’re in the Balham area and are in need of a little break in your day, we can send round one of our water cooler Balham guys to come and a) install a wonderfully useful, good-looking and hydrating water cooler, and b) pop in every week to bring you a supply of spring water. Who knows, they might even be able to stay for a cuppa; taste in biscuits vary enormously among the engineers, details are available on request. So give yourself a treat and invest in a water cooler, Balham style (that is, trendy and hip and up-and-coming). They can also be used for office role play (if you miss the office environment); simply rope friends/relatives/exotic pets into playing the parts of your colleagues, whilst you assume role of high-and-mighty-all-commanding boss. Great fun for all, we’re sure you’ll agree.
If you have any questions about any of our water coolers, for Balham or any other area of London, or about which biscuits we prefer, then please get in touch!

Healthy kids drink water

October 16th, 2009

obesity_kidsWith childhood obesity levels reaching an all time high around the world, it’s important we take action now to assist in the prevention of obesity in future generations. According to studies childhood obesity has become so serious it is now a public health concern. Children are becoming less active and eating more, which certainly doesn’t make for a healthy lifestyle. There are many damaging effects obesity can have on children, the first ones to show are usually emotional. Being the fat kid at school is never good for one’s self esteem.

They get picked last on sports teams and are usually bullied by the other children beacuse of their weight. The damage that’s been done in the school days will usually stay with the child for life. However it’s not just the emotional scarring a child will need to deal with, there are many more conditions that will follow later in life if obesity is not tackled in the younger days. These include some very dangerous illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and even cancer. Nipping childhood obesity in the bud in the early stages will help that child develop without the emotional and physical problems they would have had to deal with had their obesity continued past puberty.

So how can you ensure your child doesn’t end up as another obesity statistic? The first thing to do is ensure they are educated on what good and bad foods are. They need to know that cake will make you fat and carrots won’t. But make sure you don’t deprive them of all sweeties, they are still children afterall, but simply emphasise they can have those sort of foods on ocassion as a special treat not everyday. Most importantly you need to encourage them to drink plenty of water.

Water is vital to any growing body, however it’s particularly beneficial for children’s growing bodies. So encourage water intake over fizzy drinks such as Coke or Lemonade, this will also help cut their sugar intake in half. Fizzy drinks are ridden with sugar and are extremely bad for teeth. If you can get your child drinking nothing but milk and water you will save a bundle on dentist bills!

Having water coolers in your home will certainly assist you in the battle between water and fizzy drinks. With the home water cooler there children will be more interested in getting water out of it rather than heading to the fridge. So if you’d like to keep your kids healthy, contact us now on 0845 006 3309 or send us an email on contact@thewaterdeliverycompany.com and we’ll be happy to discuss your options and if need be we’ll over in a jiffy to install your water cooler.

How to choose the right water cooler for you

October 1st, 2009

When deciding upon a water cooler that’s right for you there are a lot of things to consider. If you are looking for a water cooler for your home, you want it to be mess free, hassle free and of course easy to maintain and safe for your little ones to use. There are renting and purchasing options available, so it’s important to decide whether you think you’ll be needing the cooler short or long term. You might be moving in the near future so perhaps in that case you might like to look at your rental options. On the other hand, you might have just bought your dream home and would like to purchase a water cooler for the kitchen.

make a decisionThen there’s the bottled water cooler versus bottleless water coolers avenue to venture down. The long term benefits of a bottleless (or more commonly known as plumbed in water coolers) water cooler include cost benefits and environmental benefits as you will not need to continue purchasing bottles of water as the cooler will be plumbed in to your existing water supply, which also means you will not need to drop any bottles off to be recycled either. Together, these benefits alone suggest it might be more beneficial for you to have a bottleless water cooler in your home. In some cases, where the plumbing is tricky, a bottled water cooler will do the job just fine. It will still provide your family with safe to drink, healthy, purified drinking water at an affordable price.

Deciding on a water cooler for a school or workplace? Then you need to take into consideration a few factors. For schools, you need to pick a water cooler that the children can access easily. So you may need to go for a shorter, smaller model so that the children can reach the fountain without having to get a chair to stand on.

When choosing a water cooler for the workplace, you need to ask whether you want hot and cold options incase people want to make coffee and tea or whether you want to keep the water cooler purely for drinking water and have your staff go to the kitchen to make their hot drinks.

If you are deciding on what sort of water cooler to rent or purchase, please call us here at The Water Delivery Company and we will do out best to help you make the right choice. We can be contacted on 0845 006 3309 or you can email us on contact@thewaterdeliverycompany.com

Home water coolers

May 1st, 2009

ceramic-water-dispenserThe Water Delivery Company started off targeting the home water cooler market in the UK back in 2002 – but soon moved away from this as we found that the general public was not yet ready to embrace the idea of water coolers in the home en masse.

We do still have a home water cooler base across London and over the next two years this is an area we are further targetting. If you want to see our first online effort at the home water cooler market please look at www.aquome.com – don’t hold it against us! In July 2009 we launched HomeWaterCoolers.co.uk as the UK’s first dedicated website to the home water cooler market.

One of the first attempts to find a low cost entry model for residential customers was the ceramic dispenser shown to the left. We still have hundreds of customers who have these ceramic dispensers in the home, but they do have their drawbacks. Notably the fact that the dispenser does not actively chill the water. Over the years we have found that one of the key initial motivations for a home water cooler is chilled water for the summer months – as the weather gets hotter, unfortunately the water in the ceramic can heat up as well.

However over the years we have asked our customers for the main reasons they have a home water cooler and water delivery service and have found them to be as follows

  • Ease - No more carrying water back from the supermarket
  • Provenance - Assurance of where the spring water has come and that it has been recently bottled
  • Value - Purchasing water in 19 litre or 12 litre bottles is cheaper than purchasing smaller pack bottles from the supermarket
  • Recycling - After each bottle is finished we collect it, industrially clean it and then reuse it. In comparison with small pack plastic bottles our supply chain is remarkably environmenally friendly.

zenith-bottled-water-coolerIn recent years the cost of purchasing home water coolers has come down enormously and we have also further established our business and are able to offer most homes the choice of renting home water coolers. This range of options is definitely important for our home customers and we are hoping in coming months to further advertise our services to home customers in London. Lastly our range of water coolers now includes some great looking stainless steel models which would fit into the most modern of kitchens.
