Project Wet is an education program for children and this Thursday a lot of students learned about water pollution, Water Delivery and water cycles.

Four-hundred students from the Tampa bay area dedicated an entire day learning about water. This program continues to develop for fourth consecutive year and is called “Make a Splash”. This project is yet another activity intended to commemorate the Earths Day on the 22nd of April. All the children that day learned a great deal about the importance of water. Some of the activities during that important day were carrying buckets of water. You may wonder what does that have to do with the importance of water. Well not all people around the world are lucky enough to have plumbing and water faucets. It was very hard back in the days and it is still very hard for people in some regions around the world. Sometimes, according to a recent survey, it takes up to four hours a day for some people in Africa to go to the well and bring buckets of water back to their families. The idea of this project was for the kids to appreciate the water and all the good things that come form it and cherish it. Kids started looking at nature differently and realized that they are really lucky to live in a place where Water Delivery is facilitated.

Our company supports that project and encourages you to appreciate your water.

“Dear Marlon,
thank you so much for helping supply the water bottles. The children really enjoyed using them and we had a great day with STOMP. As you can see from the pictures the kids had fun investigating all sorts of musical intruments and we will now be going on to try and put together a performance piece for the Bromley Schools Proms next term.

I’ll keep you posted as to progress! Thanks once again for all your help – you were a star !Best wishes, Liz Maltman ( on behalf of the staff and children at The Highway Primary School, Orpington)”

If any other schools or charities would like to use our 19 litre bottles for events please contact Marlon Green on 0845 006 3309 or email contact@thewaterdeliverycompany.com.

On Saturday 6th June 2009 the Perth and Kinross Council Private Water team achieved their goal of conquering Lochnagar in the Cairngorms National Park despite some ‘interesting’ weather.

The Water Team at Perth and Kinross Council work to improve private water supplies in the Perth & Kinross area. They sample and risk-assess private water supplies as well as administering grants to assist with the upgrading of these supplies which can often be vulnerable to contamination.

The team climbed 1138 m (3793ft) to the summit of Lochnagar to raise money for Water Aid – an international charity whose mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

Many thanks to all who contributed to the total of £570.50 raised and especially to the Water Delivery Company for their generous donation and for keeping the team hydrated all the way to the top!
