Great Bear Glass Water Cooler Bottles – Part Ten
December 9th, 2012

Great Bear Glass water cooler bottles - with cratesWe are fortunate enough to have had another customer in the USA send in some photos of his Great Bear glass water cooler bottles.

Another in our series of articles on the glass water bottles that dominated the water cooler industry until the 1980′s when a suitable plastic alternative was developed and had obvious benefits. The Great Bear Spring Company manufactured and markets bottled spring water since being founded in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1888. The Great Bear Spring Company brand now operates as a subsidiary of Nestlé Waters North America.

These photos show some great detail on the wooden crates that were used to transport the glass water cooler bottles around and to assist in storing the bottles during the filling process. Although these wooden crates are no longer used today we have seen similarly styled plastic crates used in day-to-day operation in Hong Kong.

We are working to value these glass water cooler bottles for our customers. Our sister company – The Water Cooler Company – has the UK’s largest collection of glass water cooler bottles.
